World Leaders Decry Xenophobia Attacks in South Africa as Nations START campaigns against their Products

The Xenophobic attacks in South Africa that have continued to raise a tumult worldover seem to be intensifying by the moment.
Many of Julia Gunther’s photographic subjects have faced oppression, discrimination and isolation before they were 20 years old. Many were pushed out of their homes and ostracized from their families. They faced atrocities including rape, beatings and expulsion. All because these women are living proudly as lesbians in South Africa.
“The only difference between Apartheid and now, is that blacks are suppressing blacks,” Gunther wrote in an email to The Huffington Post. The combination of injustice and bravery compelled Gunther to document these women and their remarkable stories.
“Free Gender has made the decision to continue to suspend its support for the upcoming Cape Town Pride 2015,” said Funeka Soldaat, who is the chairperson of Free Gender, an organisation that campaigns for the rights of homosexuals in Khayelitsha.
“The events currently tabled for the upcoming Cape Town Pride are exclusionary and do not represent the black lesbian, gay, bisexual, intersex and transgender community (LGBTI),” she added.
The Campaign Coordinator, under the direction of the Board of Directors, is responsible for the overall management and operation of the Campaign. Along with the board, the Coordinator ensures the implementation of current and long-term organisational goals and objectives, as well as policies and procedures. They are responsible for developing plans to achieve these goals; implementing policy; supervising all other senior roles in the organisation; fundraising and managing; maintaining Board relations; and supervising administrative management for the organisation.
