Adebayor Chris is most known in Uganda’s Lesbian Gay Transgender Bisexual and Intersex community as the 2015 winner of the Mr. Pride Contest. Having spent an afternoon with the recent graduate, I walked away with the impression that this young man was destined for greatness; his humility, love for service and selflessness all stood out as he talked to the Kuchu Times team about his plans for his tenure and life as a transgender man in Uganda.

Kuchu Times founder and human rights activist Kasha Jaqueline Nabagesera has today October 1st been awarded the Right Livelihood Award. The 34 year old activist was recognized for her work in the struggle for equality for Lesbians, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) persons.
Kenya’s first openly gay politician fondly referred to as Senator David Kuria Mbote has officially made a comeback to the politics game.
Mbote better known for being a co-founder of the Kenya Gay and Lesbian Coalition, which he headed for ten years made his mark in the country as the first openly gay politician when he vied for the Kiambu county senate seat.
