PARLIAMENT VOWS TO PASS ANTI-GAY BILL BEFORE YEAR’S END

As if the societal witch-hunt is not enough, Parliament of Uganda yesterday committed to re-tabling the Anti-Homosexuality Bill by 28th October 2019, at the latest. This new development was confirmed by the State Minister of Ethics and Integrity Fr. Simon Lokodo in an interview with Thomas Reuters. The new bill which calls for the death penalty of persons found guilty of engaging in same sex relations is expected to be passed before the year is out.

AFA OFFERS DIGITAL LITERACY AND SECURITY TRAINING TO REFUGEE HRDs

Access For All (AFA) recently held a digital literacy and security training #AFADST2019 for refugee human rights defenders within the East African region. With support from The Collaboration on International ICT Policy for East and Southern Africa (CIPESA), the two- day event targeted activists from different community based organizations in Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), South Sudan and Eritrea.
