CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: SPEAKING OUT EAST AFRICA TRAINING

The Global Forum for MSM and HIV (MSMGF) and ISHTAR is opening a call for applications for 5-day Speaking Out East Africa training. The training will be hosted from 3rd -8th July in Kenya. The advocacy training equips individuals and organizations with tools and techniques that enable them to become advocates right now, whoever and wherever they happen to be. We are looking for Gay men, MSM and Transgender (GMT) advocates who are expected to participate in 5-day training. Participants will be drawn from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda.

The training provides human rights advocates an opportunity to enhance their advocacy skills and share their expertise with other human rights advocates working with Gay men, MSM and Transgender persons within the region. During the training participants will develop their own advocacy projects related to their work in their home country/region.

How to Apply:
GMT advocates are welcome to submit their applications which should be accompanied by nomination/endorsements from their host organizations in the mentioned countries. All the documentation including your application and nomination documents, Passport information and endorsement letter from your host organization should be sent together in one email from the nominating organization’s email to [email protected].

Selected participants will be notified by 3rd June 2017. The spaces are not transferable. If for any reason the selected participant cannot attend, his/her space will be given to other applicants.
