Every Friday, Kuchu Times Media group will hold a live Facebook and Twitter broadcast of Godivo Akullo as she talks all thinks feminism.
Godiva who is an ardent feminist and human rights defender will explore the issues that affect women, how best to move forward in a world so dominantly defined by men as well as how to be stronger and proud women irrespective of social status, gender identity, sexual orientation as well as breaking the barriers that have been forced upon women by culture and religion.
The weekly broadcast which will last ten minutes is intended to help women re-establish their stance not only in society but also leadership roles.
Godiva is a lawyer and teacher of the law with a background in human rights. She is passionate about the rights of women and other marginalized groups and has written on Intimate Partner Violence among LGBTIQ women in Kampala and the use of “Naming and Shaming” as a tool to encourage states to respect their international Human Rights obligations.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from Makerere University, a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from Harvard Law School and a Diploma in Legal Practise from the Law Development Centre. She is also a permanent writer at AfricanFeminism.com.
