Together with fellow LGBTI organization Youth On Rock, Spectrum Uganda has released the list of categories for the 2015 LGBTI/SW Human Rights awards. The awards which were inaugurated in 2014 recognise individuals and organisations for their dedicated work towards improving the lives of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) persons as well as the sex workers community.
Founded in 2003, Spectrum is a community-based organization that focuses on providing support and sexual health education for the LGBTI community. They hold workshops to encourage people to check their HIV/STI status, use condoms and proper lubricants. Spectrum also provides advocacy to lp combat LGBTI discrimination.
