About KT
Kuchu Times is a Media Initiative formed to forge ways of giving a platform to the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender and Intersex community in Uganda and Africa. A platform to create change in our struggles for equality and freedom by sharing, educating and informing the huge diverse African communities.
This media platform is a Radio, Television and Website were day to day lived realities will be shared. Debates, discussions, stories, movies/documentaries and it also acts as a one stop News shopping centre for allies, scholars, students, families and friends, researchers, activities and well-wishers.
In so many African countries homosexuality is illegal and so is information sharing. This has prompted so much negativity towards the LGBTI communities around the continent. Spaces for dialogue and awareness rising have been closed or censored. We believe that Kuchu Times is a big step to providing many members of the LGBTI community an opportunity to share any message they have since failed to share through mainstream media. This platform will also minimise on the physical security threats and incidences of the communities as it will all be online.
